FT.com - Bill Gross, founder of Pimco, one of the world's largest fixed-income managers, sounded a downbeat note on the US economy by saying it has gone into recession.
When your dismissal is medium or high-risk, you must offer something more than your standard package. You don't want the appearance you were out to "get" the bad worker. This will send a message to your other workers that you won't tolerate behavior outside firm guidelines. When I asked you later about the conversation, you said you worry for Sarah and wanted to tell others. These can include lawsuits claiming you were discriminatory or claiming that you wrongfully fired the employee. Then when a layoff happens, make sure the lay off manager has the support of a representative from Human resources. The termination notice is a substantial document not only for the lay off meeting but also for legal purposes if the worker files a improper termination lawsuit. Number 8 - Write The termination Notice And Separation contract. Their contract which is a legally binding document spells out their terms of layoff.

You present the notice at the termination meeting the day you terminate the jobholder. Therefore, you should use your most "bulletproof" reason in your letter. Your warnings will "memorialize" the incident, explain how the employee should upgrade and inform her that her job is in jeopardy. Medium risk - You have a high chance of the laid off worker suing you OR a high chance of losing in court. Now and then, you may feel the need to use "police powers." For example, you suspect a jobholder is using his office computer to run a porn firm, and you want to check his computer.
